Delhi Police has arrested a Punjabi singer and the manager of a music company on the basis of a complaint by a woman who claimed that the men had touched her inappropriately during a private programme.She claimed that the men were known to her and had offered her a job at the music company .
In her complaint, the woman, a resident of Rohini, claimed that she was acquainted with the accused from a music event. She claimed to have met the two again at a market near Tilak Nagar on Friday and accepted their offer to visit their studio. There they had groped her and when she resisted their attempts and threatened to raise an alarm, the men let her go and warned her not to inform the police.
The woman later reached the Tilak Nagar Police Station and registered a complaint following which the singer was summoned for questioning. Senior police officers say that he was arrested after this.
Police officers say that a case under sections for illegal confinement was also registered against the accused. A probe has also been initiated to establish the sequence of events based on the complaint of the woman.
