2 LeT Men Shot Dead In J&K
An Army soldier was killed by a Pakistani sniper along the LoC in Machil sector of Kupwara district of Jammu & Kashmir on Wednesday .An Army spokesperson said Pakistani troopers targeted Bajarwali post at Machil at 2.30pm in which a soldier, Satnam Singh of 17 Sikh, suffered a bullet injury.
Singh was immediately airlifted to 92 Base Hospital at BB Cantonment in Srinagar where he died. The spokesman said the Indian Army retaliated effectively to the ceasefire violation by Pakistani troopers. The two armies traded intermittent gunfire till Wednesday evening.
Around the same time, two Pakistani terrorists were killed in a brief gunfight between them and the security personnel in Rafiabad area of north Kashmir's Baramulla.
A police official said Army and police Special Operations Group personnel, acting on a tip-off, cordoned off Drusu village in Rafiabad on Wednesday afternoon and started a search operation.
Two Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists, who had been hiding, opened fire on the search team and were killed in retaliatory fire, police said, adding that the two slain militants were identified as Abu Maaz and Abu Raafi.
