The US Supreme Court has rejected the final legal challenge by Tahawwur Rana, a Canadian-Pakistani national convicted in the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, preventing his extradition to India.
Rana, accused of involvement in the attacks that killed 166 people, including six Americans, had exhausted all legal avenues in US courts. He had filed a petition for a writ of certiorari with the Supreme Court, which was denied on January 21st.
India had sought Rana's extradition for his alleged role in the attacks.
The US government countered this argument, stating that the Indian charges were based on some conduct not covered in the US trial.
