FIITJEE has closed multiple centers from Delhi and Uttar Pradesh to Mumbai, with an FIR claiming that teachers have not been paid their salaries.

FIITJEE, a chain of coaching institutes that prepares students for competitive exams like the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE), has recently closed several centers in Delhi-NCR, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh, leaving students and parents uncertain about their future.

With a total of 73 study centers nationwide, the institute is grappling with a financial crisis, leading to mass resignations among staff at various locations. The closures include centers in Laxmi Nagar and Noida Sector 62 in Delhi, as well as branches in Meerut, Ghaziabad, Lucknow, Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh, and in Maharashtra's Andheri, Kandivali, Thane, and Navi Mumbai.

The Ghaziabad center in Raj Nagar was shut down approximately ten days ago after parents filed a police report, alleging that the institute abruptly ceased operations, putting their children's academic preparations at risk. The first phase of the JEE (Main) examination is set to begin on January 22.

In Delhi and the NCR, a coaching institute is charging more than Rs 90,000 for a one-year classroom program aimed at students who have either taken or completed their Class 12 exams.

In their complaint, parents have claimed that teachers at the Ghaziabad center have not received their salaries. "The FIR was filed by the District School Inspector, after which we initiated an investigation," stated Ghaziabad Assistant Commissioner of Police Abhishek Srivastava.

Ghaziabad District School Inspector Dharmendra Sharma also noted that the FIITJEE institutes in the Raj Nagar area were operating without the necessary licenses. Additionally, a police complaint was lodged at the Preet Vihar police station in Delhi. A Delhi Police officer commented, "We have received a complaint from several parents and are currently investigating it." Another police complaint has been made against the institute's Kalu Sarai branch in South Delhi.

In the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), three to four FIITJEE centres have been closed. The Andheri centre is currently functioning online with limited capacity, while the other centres were shut down in December following a mass resignation of staff members. According to the FIITJEE website, its study centres are located in 17 states, including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Rajasthan, and Maharashtra. FIITJEE was established in 1992.
