 On Friday, approximately 2,000 members of S. Seeman's Naam Tamizhar Katchi (NTK) party defected to the ruling DMK in a ceremony attended by party president and Chief Minister MK Stalin. Seeman's recent provocative comments regarding Dravidian movement founder E.V. Ramasamy, widely respected as Periyar by Tamil Nadu parties, sparked dissent within his own ranks, prompting many to leave NTK for the DMK. Stalin pointed out that NTK was originally founded on Periyar's ideologies and criticized Seeman for his dramatic and inflammatory rhetoric.  FIITJEE, a chain of coaching institutes that prepares students for competitive exams like the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE), has recently closed several centers in Delhi-NCR, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh, leaving students and parents uncertain about their future. With a total of 73 study centers nationwide, the institute is grappling with a financial crisis, leading to mass resignations among staff at various locations. The closures include centers in Laxmi Nagar and Noida Sector 62 in Delhi, as well as branches in Meerut, Ghaziabad, Lucknow, Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh, and in Maharashtra's Andheri, Kandivali, Thane, and Navi Mumbai. The Ghaziabad center in Raj Nagar was shut down approximately ten days ago after parents filed a police report, alleging that the institute abruptly ceased operations, putting their children's academic preparations at risk.
